WELCOME to my little arty world! Trying to make art is a huge part of my life ... love nothing more than messing around with inks and sprays and generally making a mess!

WOYWW 292

Welcome to our weekly Wednesday blog-hop ... might actually have time to hop myself this week and catch up on visiting all the wonderful crafty desks around the world.  All thanks to our gracious host, Julia over at The Stamping Ground

Have had a very productive workdesk this past week and this morning will be putting the finishing touches to a batch of cards for the men on my list and then I need to get some anniversary cards made.

Got a new embossing folder with some little hearts on that I might use for the anniversary cards ... got it propped up against the laptop hoping inspiration might come calling.

Also a new pot of Mod Podge ... absolutely no idea what to do with it but saw Barbara Gray use it in a demo and fully plan on giving it a go myself ... sometime ... maybe!

Bakers Twine is ready to wrap and staple around the cards ... again my much preferred tag shape that I know a lot of the recipients of my cards don't like but it is what I enjoy doing and is my favoured style so I am sticking with it! So sorry to my BFF whom last year said I had forgotten to send her a card on her birthday which confused me as her name was ticked off the list ... when I said I was confused and was sure i had sent a card she replied "not a proper card, only one of those tag things" ... well, one of those tag things she will be getting again this year!

Thank goodness the mojo seems to have returned and I have more ideas and things I want to try than time to do it but with the first half of the years cards pretty much sorted I might just have time to play and practise and experiment!!!!!

Happy WOYWW'ing everyone!

  1. Nice tidy desk and loads of plans are a create start to a creative roll!!! Tags, cards, it's the thought that counts!

  2. Some people hate the smell of ModPodge - I love it myself! More than the gel medium I'm using at the moment, which smells very strange! Where did you get those nice big tags from? I can't find that size in the UK! Great idea to send tags instead of card (even though your friend may not think so!) Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #27

  3. I've got too many projects on the go at the moment...I need to prioritise what need to be done first! I may even....fanfare.......make a list! But don't tell Julia, lol ;-)
I love your tags, think they're awesome, so don't you go changing what you enjoy making ;-)

  5. Thanks for visiting earlier - so close that I go to a Craft Group at Solihull Library!!! You should come along - the next one is Tuesday 12.30hrs.
Having received one of your tags at the crop last year - I think that you should continue to do what you do best!!! They are beautiful works of art.

  8. thanks for your visit already, ran out of time yesterday to get back to you! How rude of your friends to not like tag - cards - it still takes time to prepare and you put lots of love into them all the same! Hope you enjoy working with the Mod Podge, I hate the smell! Helen 9

  9. I put out things I want to use too...hoping I'll figure out the WHAT as I go! LOL! I just got in some Mod Podge myself to use on a project. If you go to YouTube and look up Lawn Fawn's site, they used it to apply tissue paper to a glass jar to use as a candle holder. It was white with blue snowflakes and I'm hoping to make a similar version soon.

    Happy Crafting!

  10. Thanks so much for calling in on me yesterday.
I think we all have firm favourites when it comes to what we make but I really love to work out of my comfort zone at times too.

  11. I have lots I want to do but seem to get bogged down here and there! I really need to keep a journal of things I want to do and then just go down the list! Your embossing folder looks nice!

  12. A Tag thing! Maybe you should stick a bit of card on the back of the tags to make an easel stand for those who 'need' a card! How funny we are about our expectations! I love the tags - they get hung, tucked into books and generally stay a lot longer than cards!

  13. I am with the others, I love tags too a bit different than cards.
Well done on tackling men cards-they are SO difficult to find inspiration for!

Thanks for visiting my blog already

  14. I love tags too! (You can hang them up anywhere). I think your friend might be a wee bit ungrateful....
Modpodge, I have it on my shelf since last month but I haven't used it yet. Mine is glossy. I should have got the matte as I think I can use it in stead of Gel Medium (which I can't get here in Spain).
    Have a great week,
