WOYWW 269

Not much yet on my workdesk this bright and sunny Wednesday morning as I am still in recovery after doing 1710 miles in a week on our trip to Ireland last week!  Will be firing up the Gelli later though as I want to make some little items to give to my sister-in-law who is holding a fund raising event for Rethink and the Maya Angelou quote cards I made seemed to go down well - no idea if they are the sort of thing that would be acceptable as fund raising items but if they don't sell then they can always be put to another use.

Well, mindful that Julia over at the Stamping Ground likes our WOYWW posts to be short and sweet I shall keep this one short and sweet (do I get a gold star for that Julia please?) - my workdesk as I type consists only of some rather dodgy samples of some new crochet stitches I am trying to master - definitely more practise needed!!!

Oh yes Shaz's blog just reminded me of the new dies that came on Monday ... going to make some Christmas ornaments with them as seen in a Stampin' Up! Youtube video ... at least, I will attempt to make some!

And just why am I showing you my poor little samples?  Well, each Wednesday us crafty bloggers get the chance to visit the workdesks of fellow crafty bloggers all around the world and take a nosey at their workspaces ... all courtesy of the brilliant aforementioned Julia.  If you are a blogger then check it all out HERE

Happy WOYWW'ing!

  1. They're really good! I particularly like the overlapping leaf one which reminds me of dragon scales! I'm rubbish at trying out new stitches, I tend to stick to the tried and tested and play around with the colours instead :-)
That's a lot of Irish miles, but you look as if you had a great few days!

  4. I tracked your Irish miles with you on FB and enjoyed them all, hope you have great memories of this trip, after all, it's special for a number of reasons. I am in receipt of a Maya quote hanging..it's quite beautiful and I am very honoured to be a recipient, your artwork is so fab Debbie.
I know the leaf stitch will be popular but I favour that fan stitch, its really pretty.

  8. One little suggestion about your sample bits of crochet - if you do each one as a set sized square, you could put them all together at a later date as a blanket. They are very pretty and look absolutely fine to me. I am in the process of deciding what sort of cards to make for a Christmas craft stall at a local school fair, sharing the table with Rebecca. Then, of course, I have to make some. Must get busy. xx Maggie #32

  9. Trust the cards you make for your sister in law go down well, and raise funds for her charity. Your crochet looks great - I especially love the one that looks like overlapping shells. What is it called? Never seen anything like it before.
    Take care. God bless.

  12. It looked like you were having a wonderful time on your trip. Bet it feels good to be home again though. I like the feathery/scaly stitch, but my favourite is the 'shell' deign bottom right. Have fun with your new stamps and dies. I had mine out the other day making balloons! No desk this week, but I thought I'd pop by to say "Hi!" anyway xx

  14. Hi Debbie, I admit, your were one of those I had in mind when I said some people would love those stamps! The whole grungy/flourishy thing screamed DEBBIE at me, lol. You've also reminded me I have the Spellbinders ornament dies- oh no! I'm thinking about the 'C' word- bad Debbie. Have a great week, Hugs, Shax #6 xxx

  15. Hi Debbie, your crochet looks fine to me :) although knitting is more my cup of tea. I've never really got the hang of crochet, wish I could though.
