WELCOME to my little arty world! Trying to make art is a huge part of my life ... love nothing more than messing around with inks and sprays and generally making a mess!

WOYWW 138

Cogs and a kaleidoscope of butterflies ... at least that's what is on my workdesk this morning having been left to dry overnight (well, the silicone behind the fluttering butterfly wings was!)

Of course all those cogs and butterflies mean only one thing ... I fired up (bad choice of expression there!!!) the replacement Vagabond ... got to say I have lost a lot of confidence in it and wonder now if I should have taken the supplier up on the offer of swapping it for a Big Shot or similar machine.  I guess there is little point in putting the Vagabond in the cupboard for occasional use because if it is going to start smoking again it needs to be within the guarantee period so use it I must.  Crafting with Courage I call it!!!!

Now I need to clear them away and start on some anniversary cards and after much deliberating, changing of mind, stressing over what to do, changing my mind back again, stressing some more and deliberating even further I am going to try a dreadfully cliched black and white monochromatic theme using Tim Holtz's stamp but colour the heart in red and then "glossy accent" just the heart.

Will make a start and see how it goes and shall just keep tweaking until I get it right.  Happy WOYWW'ing everyone!

    1. Hi Shaz ... thanks SO much for popping by! Will give the Vagabond a fair go ... if it lets me down again it is getting traded for a Big Shot! They are not calendars by the way but birthday cards with, hopefully, the right date on for each person! Hopefully. xXx

  2. Hi there. Thanks for sharing your creative space with us nosey parkers today. It's always inspiring to see. Hope you have plenty of creative fun this coming week. Don't let the Vagabond scare you, just dive in ! Your projects look great and black white and a hint of red may be a cliche but it works for me! Thanks for visiting me earlier and your kind words; you made my day!

    1. Me and the Vagabond were getting on just fine until the smoke and then we kinda fell out ... I was the trustworthy one in the relationship and it let me down! Will give it another fair go ... once I can forgive, twice and it gets traded for a Big Shot! D x

  5. Remember to put the calendars in the right order mind! It is difficult when you lose confidence in a piece of kit or a tool, keep at it.

  7. If you are doing a monochromatic card, why don't you enter in in the http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/ You have six days to do it and post it on their site. It does not matter if you win or lose, it is just another way of looking at what others do, and a bit of fun. As far as the books are concerned, Debbie, Geoff has a phrase which comes out every time we go away in the van "This van will never move". We have a heavy van, so we are weight concious, and we could not take enough books to keep me occupied for a holiday anyway. All our cupboards are taken for other purposes. By the way, beware that Phil might read your blog, and then search the van before you go away next time. Good luck with the smoking machine. xx Maggie #91

    1. Phil read my blog ... oh you have made me laugh! He still doesn't get the whole blog thing and thought it highly amusing when I hit 1000 page views today and was just so chuffed I had to ring and tell him ...his suggestion was that 990 of them were probably me anyway!
Don't have enough confidence yet to enter any challenges but never say never!
Last holiday we got through so many books I ended up leaving a load in the laundry rooms of the various caravan sites ... just those we had both read and knew we wouldn't read again, but not any hardbacks or our much favoured Patricia Cornwell's! xXx

  8. The colors turned out great--even if you have had a bit of a wonky time with the Vagabond. Nice!

  11. Your calendar cards are really fabulous, really personal and such pretty colours, I must admit I thought they were pages for a desk calendar until I read your replies to the comments so then had another look, and thought what a brilliant idea, you should give it a go and enter into some challenges, your cards are lovely and but even so lots of the challenges are drawn using Random.org so you have as much chance as anyone, Hope this Vagabond works well for you and you don't have any problems
    Have a great week Lou x #82

  13. Yes, I have to say that if one of my crafting tools decided to set fire to itself I'd be quite leery of it myself. I did chuckle at your comment that you fired it up. Your projects look great and no soldering edges so all must be well.

  14. I love the colour combo on your cards. Sorry to hear about the smoking machine. I'd be very upset if my cameo did any of that. This is a no smoking house! I hope the new one makes up for all that trouble. Kate x

  15. It's a shame about the machine and I know what you mean about being leery about the new one, but I suppose you have to use it to make sure it's ok. I do like those calendar cards too.

  16. Craft on with courage, you're doing the right thing for sure. I must say I understand your guarantee period reasoning. The butterflies are gorgeous, so far, so wonderful! As for the mind changing stressing and mind changing thing...less courage and more normality then!!!

  17. Thanks for your visit today. Glad you liked the card. Not only did I recycle but I scanned the bits so I could do it again in some form in the future. Even more UIU thinking. xx Maggie
